Why enrol?

The Master’s Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering for Energy and Environment (IMEA) is a unique offering in Italy. It is designed to prepare professional profiles at the intersection of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Engineering, combining innovative, high-level contents with a solid and rigorous methodological background. IMEA trains future engineers with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle the challenges of energy and environmental sustainability through a solid, interdisciplinary approach.

IMEA graduates achieve outstanding employment outcomes surpassing the national average for Mechanical Engineering. According to Almalaurea 2021, 98% of IMEA graduates were employed within three years after the master’s degree (www.almalaurea.it). This success reflects the versatility of the degree, which opens several career opportunities across multiple sectors, including industry, civil engineering, consultancy, and services.

The IMEA programme stands out for its wide educational offering (over 47 specialised courses across four curricula, one of which is delivered entirely in English) and opportunities for pre-graduation internships available to all students. These internships can take place in companies or research institutions, both in Italy and abroad, supported through national and international exchange programmes (Italian ERASMUS agreements, ERASMUS+ agreements, bilateral agreements between universities, etc.).

The programme also offers an interdisciplinary training path called Minor in Engineering for Green Transition Technologies. Students can earn this certification by making specific choices within their study plan. Upon completion, the minor is officially recognised through a digital credential called an “Open Badge” (https://bestr.it/badge/show/2728).
