The Mechanical Engineering study programme manifesto provides for 3 CFU credits in the second year for ‘Further knowledge’.
3 CFU credits correspond to approximately 24 hours of classroom teaching and, considering individual revision by the student, to approximately 75 hours of total commitment.
Each year, the Degree Programme Board (DPB) evaluates a set of training initiatives suitable for the accreditation of 3 credits.
- Mini-courses typically worth 3 credits of an applied nature (laboratory, programming, etc.) that may be provided by other degree programmes (certificate of attendance and pass mark awarded by the mini-course lecturer):
- Courses on Home Automation (creation of functional homes with a high degree of automation)
- Courses on Arduino (programmable open-source hardware system capable of controlling small devices, motors and actuators and easily carrying out experiments in the field of robotics)
- Other mini courses aimed at acquiring IT and telematic skills
- University student initiatives (covering all or part of the 3 CFU credits)
- Active participation in the UninaCorse team (certified by the PRESIDENT of the Association)
- Active participation in the 1001 Vela team (certified by the PRESIDENT of the Association)
- Seminars (typical size: multiples of 0.5 CFU corresponding to 4 hours of seminar) (certificate stating the topic and number of hours issued by the person responsible for the seminar initiative approved by the DPB).
Typical topics:
- Ethics and engineering - professional ethics (by the Order of Engineers)
- Workplace safety (by INAIL)
- Culture of inclusion and soft skills (by Sinapsi and selected companies)
- Technical topics (by individual lecturers in collaboration with companies)
- Additional seminars offered by the School of Engineering and Basic Sciences as part of the project: Soft-skills & employability @ SPSB
Web-Learning
- MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) Federica Web Learning Link
Accreditation procedure
Please note that, to obtain accreditation, it is necessary to participate in the proposed initiatives and collect certificates and attestations of participation (in the manner provided for), until the completion of the total 3CFU.
The seminars organised by the DPB can be attended starting from the first year of the course and will be recognised upon request by the student starting from the second-year exam window.
Starting from the first exam window of the second year, students can send all the certifications they have obtained (attendance at seminars/short courses, certificates from the presidents of university student associations, MOOC courses) to the programme secretary, Mr Luigi Calvanese (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), indicating in the email “Request for accreditation of CFU Other Knowledge for ”. After the time necessary to complete the procedure with the necessary checks, the 3 CFU will be visible in your SEGREPASS account.
