TOPICS: The students will be introduced to the fundamentals of the measurement systems in the manufacturing companies. An overview on how to validate measurement systems will be provided too. An experimental and mathematical method will be proposed in order to determine how much the variation of the measurement process contributes to overall process variability; that's why it is one of the most important element of the “Six Sigma” methodology (a data-driven methodology that provides methods to improve efficiencies, quality of the process and increase bottom-line profit).
